About YachtKeys
An independent, informational website about boating keys and onboard gear.
What this site is
YachtKeys (yachtkeys.com) is an independent, informational website with buying guides for boating keys and onboard gear: floating keychains, kill-switch lanyards and wireless engine cut-offs, waterproof phone cases and dry bags, marine key safes, boat and trailer security, and dock and deck essentials.
What this site is not
YachtKeys is not a business that serves customers. We don't sell products directly, we don't cut, copy or program keys, and we don't offer locksmith, towing, repair or any other services. We have no storefront, service area or phone line. If you need a replacement key or repair, contact your boat or engine dealer or a qualified marine technician.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any boat, engine or gear manufacturer. Brand and product names on this site are used only to identify products and belong to their owners.
How we choose picks
Each category page explains the criteria that matter for that type of gear and highlights three picks: a Best Overall, a Best Value and a Design Pick. We choose them from real, currently listed products based on manufacturer-published specifications, how well they match the criteria we describe, and how broadly useful they are for small-boat owners. We don't do hands-on lab testing, and we don't accept payment for placement. We don't publish prices or ratings because they change constantly; check the retailer listing for current details.
How we handle safety and rules
When a guide discusses regulations, such as the federal engine cut-off switch rule, we summarize the official source in plain language and link to it. Rules change and states can add their own, so always confirm with the official source and your state boating agency. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
